UMT-IIE Student Chapter was rewarded with the prestigious Gold Chapter Award by the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) USA on their performance for the term 2011 to 2012. The branch actively participated in international events and competitions, formulated its structure, defined its mission and goals as well as conducted learning and education activities for its members such as industrial visits.
A ceremony for the celebration of achieving this success was celebrated at University of Management and Technology. The ceremony was attended by the faculty of Industrial Engineering department. The chief guest of the event was chairman of department Prof. Farhan Daud Qazi who highly appreciated the efforts of founding members of the society who have worked diligently hard over the past 2 years in bringing the society to what it is today.
After this a small ceremony was conducted where certificates and cups were given to the winning teams and players who had participated in the first UMT-IIE Student Chapter Cricket Tournament organized by the society. In the end Final trophy was awarded to the winning team Captain.
The whole event reflects the commitment and conviction of the society to serve its members and the industrial engineering department. We are committed to providing networking, educational and extra-curricular activities to our student. The students are highly encouraged to participate in all the activities organized by the society and tomorrow they will also get the opportunity to become leader and take offices role to lead the organization too.
